Mamie is the author of seven books, with her most recent two introducing us to DI Kim Berry – a sharp, determined detective navigating secrets and small-town shadows in Ayrshire, where Mamie grew up.

The first in the series, Mr Murdoch is Dead, begins with the shocking discovery of a beloved teacher’s body in a school cupboard in Ayr. What follows is a twisty, clever whodunit full of secrets, suspects and emotional undercurrents. Readers have called it:
